What to do in the event of an incident
1. In the event of damage or loss of property:-
- Ensure that the remainder of your property is not exposed to further loss or damage;
- Immediately contact Comsure Insurance Brokers;
- If the loss is a result of burglary, theft or malicious damage notify your local police station immediately;
- Proceed with obtaining quotes for the repair and/or replacement of the damaged or lost property
In the event of a major loss, your insurer will appoint an assessor to inspect the damage and authorise repairs/replacement. In the meantime, do not dispose of any salvage without authorisation from your Insurance company or the assessor appointed to act on their behalf.
2. In the event of a claim made by a third party:
- DO NOT ADMIT LIABILITY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES;
- Ask the third party to submit their claim in writing
- Immediately contact Comsure Insurance Brokers
- Forward all documentation received to Comsure Insurance Brokers
3. In the event of damage sustained to insured motor vehicles:
- DO NOT ADMIT LIABILITY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES;
- Immediately contact Comsure Insurance Brokers as some Insurance Companies allow telephone lodgement of motor vehicle claims;
- If you have a preferred repairer obtain one (1) quote for repairs, otherwise contact Comsure Insurance Brokers for the name of the Insurers recommended repairers in your area;
- For claims lodged via this office, please forward all documentation including the claim form to Comsure Insurance Brokers;
